In autumn season and early spring, the sun sets around 5 pm in Varazze, and it usually hides behind the hills on the west, which means all the city is covered in gold and blue, and the sea turns into golden beer. This is how Varazze earned it's name of being one of the most California looking cities in Italy.
If you want to take beautiful pictures of surfers,
I suggest you to stop here, exactly where the river empty itself into the Mediterranean Sea.
The pier is probably the best place to get closer to surfers... and enjoy the going down
of the sun.
